The Young Entrepreneur Mentoring Program (formerly The Young Entrepreneurs Stepping Up Program) was a dynamic, interactive 12 week training program which focused on winning new business.

Binarix has proudly worked together with the NSW Government Trade & Investment to put together this training and mentoring program aimed at young business entrepreneurs.

The 'Young Entrepreneur Mentoring Program' was an initiative of the NSW Government Trade & Investment. Binarix facilitated the 'Winning New Clients – Action Plan Program'.

Objective

The objective was to develop and improve the prospecting and sales presentation skills of small business owners so they could recognise and capitalise on opportunities to increase turnover and profit performance.

Industry Sector

The program was not targeted at a specific industry segment. Any business engaged in promoting their product / service to the general marketplace, would benefit from the program.

Eligibility Criteria

Small business owners between the ages of 18 - 35 years.

You Only Pay $500 (+GST)

NSW Government Industry and Investment will subsidised the program so the Participant only paid $500 plus GST.

You receive 1:1 Mentoring

The mentoring component comprised of 10 hours one-on-one mentoring with a successful business person that had at least five (5) years experience in running a successful business.

Interactive Workshops

All sessions were conducted in boardroom format with a maximum of 25 participants.

The program was be presented on MS Power-point and an experienced facilitator conducts each session. The program was designed to be interactive and involved participants being engaged in discussions and role-playing exercises.

Each participant was supplied with a workbook. The workbook allows for note taking and becomes a permanent reference manual.

• Session 1: Business Plan - "How to develop your business and marketing plan"
  Key topics include, performing a SWOT analysis and developing your business USP (Unique Selling Proposition) to create a framework for developing an effective business plan. Live case study: A successful business entrepreneur will share their successful business planning secrets.
  
  
• Session 2: Financial Plan "How to create a profitable and sustainable business"
  Key topics include, understanding critical cash flow and profitability processes to ensure sustainable business growth. Live case study: A successful business entrepreneur, will share their strategies, for business profitability, by showing you how increasing prices of their products and services is more effective than discounting, in creating a sustainable business.
  
  
• Session 3: "How to develop your web and social media strategies for business success"
  Two experts - web strategist and social media strategist will present a lively and interactive workshop on how your business can benefit from the web and the social media revolution.
  
  
• Session 4: "The sale is made in the first 5 minutes"
  The key to sales success is understanding "how" and "why" people buy, how to successfully prospect using the telephone, and how to facilitate, a successful face-to-face meeting. Live case studies: Successful business entrepreneurs will share their successful selling techniques.

  A wonderful opportunity for mentees to share their outcomes of the "special project" undertaken with the assistance of their mentor.
